About The Role

EKFB is a joint venture bringing together international, market-leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, and BAM Nuttall. Together, the partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing, and maintenance of railway networks, including the delivery of some of Europe’s most significant high-speed rail projects.

EKFB is looking to recruit a Business Administration Apprentice to join the Routewide team based in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience within a major infrastructure project while undertaking structured training and development in business administration, systems management, and data analysis.

The role will support the administration of the Biosite Access Control Platform, working closely with internal stakeholders and supply chain partners to ensure workforce data is accurate, compliant, and effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting the administration and maintenance of the Biosite Access Control Platform.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for user queries and providing system support.
  • Verifying workforce competencies and managing access permissions.
  • Monitoring and maintaining workforce and system data.
  • Producing reports to support operational and project requirements.
  • Supporting data analysis and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assisting with the communication of improvement initiatives through reporting and data visualisation.
  • Maintaining records and documentation in accordance with project requirements.
  • Supporting the wider Routewide team with administrative activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Interest in business administration, systems management, and data analysis.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Confident communicating with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proactive, positive, and professional approach to work.
  • Previous administrative, customer service, or office-based experience is desirable.
  • Interest in reporting, data management, and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, SharePoint, or similar business systems is desirable.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
  • Eligibility to undertake a Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification.
  • Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel to other site offices may be required.

This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a career in business administration, systems management, reporting, or data analytics within the infrastructure and construction sector.
