Pickering Lifts are seeking an Apprentice to join their Central Services Department, supporting the invoicing, contracts and procurement teams. You will be liaising with internal departments and external customers and suppliers.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working, gaining hands-on experience.
Requirements
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A*-C/9-4)
- Ability to use multiple IT packages and systems, including MS Office or equivalent
- Ability to update and review databases, record information, and produce data analysis
- Ability to choose appropriate IT solutions for business problems
- Proactivity and good judgment
- Ability to make effective decisions based on sound reasoning
- Ability to deal with challenges in a mature way
- Ability to seek advice from more experienced team members when appropriate
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within your team and across the organisation
- Ability to influence and challenge appropriately
- Good communication skills (face-to-face, telephone, written, digital)
- Ability to use the most appropriate communication channels effectively
- Ability to answer questions representing the organisation or department

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective external and internal customer relationships
- Provide effective assistance to engineers and regional offices
- Provide administration assistance to the Central Services Department
- Undertake data input
- Issue template letters
- Handle daily email correspondence between internal departments
- Answer incoming calls
- Respond to customer emails
- Undertake general office duties including filing and scanning
- Accurately input data into Excel spreadsheets, the company's in-house service management database, and external customer databases
- Deal with incoming and outgoing post

Application Process
This apprenticeship includes time away from work for specialist training to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Training:
- You will study for a Business Administrator (Level 3) qualification.
- At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
- Training will be provided by THE EDUCATION TRAINING COLLECTIVE.
- The course is Level 3 Business Administration at Stockton Riverside College.
- Functional Skills Maths and English may be required.
