Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship - Barclay Primary School

Summary

The School Administrator (Apprentice) provides support to the Chief Executive Officer, Senior Leadership Team and Central Services Team whilst undertaking a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. Working with colleagues, the postholder will develop the skills and behaviours needed to become an effective administrator.

Apprenticeship Details

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, shift time tbc at interview, 36 hours a week
  • Wage: £8 per hour. This will increase to the NMW for your age if you are 19+
  • Location: 155 Canterbury Road, Leyton, London, E10 6EJ
  • Programme: Level 3 Business Administrator
  • Duration: 18 Months

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake reception duties, answering general telephone and face-to-face enquiries and signing in visitors, in compliance with school safeguarding procedures.
  • Liaise with parents, staff and other relevant individuals as required.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support, including photocopying, filing, completing standard forms and preparing routine correspondence.
  • Produce lists, information and data as required by other staff members.
  • Undertake typing, word processing and other IT-based tasks.
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Assist with maintaining manual and computerised records, particularly in relation to new admissions, school correspondence and outstanding payments.
  • Assist with organising letters and information relating to the admissions process, including admissions forms, school prospectuses, acceptance letters and other relevant documentation.
  • Assist with administering school lunches, including keeping track of and reporting the number of pupils having school lunches, in liaison with the kitchen and through the administration of dinner registers.
  • Administer lunch payments, including maintaining payment records, chasing overdue payments and supporting the banking of monies.
  • Support lunchtime supervision, when required, including assisting with the supervision of pupils in the playground and dinner hall, helping with tables and assisting at the end of meal service.
  • Assist with administering the School Management Information System (Arbor), including keeping the pupil database up to date with contact addresses and other relevant information.
