Business Administrator
Wessex Hospital | Admin Functions | Permanent | Full time
Up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience
37.5 hours per week
Our team in our Wessex Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Business Administrator. Continue your journey with us whilst we’ll support you to be your best.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Business Administrator with a strong background in accounts and financial administration to join our growing team. This is a varied role combining business administration, financial support, and operational coordination, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the day-to-day business activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the business while maintaining accurate financial records and supporting management with reporting and process improvement initiatives.
The position would suit someone who is detail-oriented, commercially aware, and capable of managing both administrative and financial responsibilities in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Administration
- Handle billing/patient enquiries and general queries.
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations.
- Coordinate meetings, reports, and business communications.
- Maintain financial and company records, reports, documentation, and ensure compliance with policies.
- Assist in financial administration.
- Resolve Data Quality issues.
- Work with the Business Administration Manager to continually improve process.
- Mentor administrative team members where applicable.

Knowledge of Accounts and Finance
- Purchase ledger and sales ledger.
- Processing invoices & payments.
- Credit control and account reconciliation.
- Liaising with consultants, patients, and central finance teams.
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience of working in an administrative role.
- Strong accounts and bookkeeping background.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- AAT qualification or equivalent financial qualification.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced business environment.

Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital is a stunning 46-bedded private hospital in West Hampshire with specialisms in Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Women’s Health, and Spinal surgery. The hospital also benefits from having onsite Radiology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, so we can give our patients a complete package of care. There are 15 consulting rooms with specialty outpatient rooms, 46 private patient bedrooms with en-suite facilities, 24-hour resident doctor on site (RMO), and four operating theatres and one endoscopy suite.
