I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About this Employer

Parenta Training is a national training provider specialising in early years education and childcare apprenticeships. We work with nurseries, pre-schools and childcare settings across the UK to recruit, enrol and support apprentices studying towards recognised early years qualifications, helping to build the skilled workforce the sector relies on.

Parenta supports learners and employers from initial enquiry through to successful completion. This includes our Sales team, who work with childcare providers to identify and recruit suitable apprentices, and our Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) team, who guide prospective learners through the enrolment process, ensuring each apprenticeship is the right fit and that all funding and eligibility requirements are met.

Behind the scenes, our success depends on accurate, timely administration — from processing enrolment paperwork to keeping records compliant with funding body requirements. This apprenticeship role would sit alongside our Sales and IAG teams, supporting them with the administrative work that keeps the enrolment process running smoothly. Day-to-day duties would include carrying out admin checks on learner paperwork, chasing outstanding documentation from learners and employers, and providing general administrative support to both teams as needed.

This is a great opportunity for an apprentice to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced training provider environment, developing skills in administration, communication and organisation while learning how the apprenticeship and early years training sector operates from the inside.
