Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship – Oasis Academy Parkwood

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join Oasis Parkwood team. As a School Administrator Apprentice, you will gain many new skills to help you develop throughout the apprenticeship. If you are looking to start a career in admin apply now!

Key Details

  • Salary: £8.58 per hour, increases to NMW after 12 months
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday in between hours 8am – 4:30pm - 32.5 hours per week
  • Location: Plymouth Rd, Scunthorpe DN17 1SS
  • Apprenticeship Details:
    • 16 months expected duration to complete
    • Working towards your Level 3 School Administration Qualification
    • All learning is delivered online/ remote
  • Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)

As a School Administrator Apprentice at Oasis Academy Parkwood, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the school’s administrative services. This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy educational environment while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will receive full training, guidance, and mentorship to help you develop strong skills in business administration.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Reception & Front-of-House

  • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, providing a warm, professional welcome.
  • Support students at reception and respond to their queries.
  • Manage a fast-paced reception area, multitasking effectively between duties.
  • Handle telephone and in-person enquiries, directing staff, parents, pupils, and visitors to the correct information.
  • Manage challenging conversations calmly and professionally.
  • Issue visitor badges and ensure all safeguarding and security procedures are followed.
  • Ensure visitors are met and escorted appropriately unless authorised to move independently.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain a tidy, organised reception and office environment.
  • Support parents with ParentPay and Bromcom/MCAS queries.
  • Complete word processing, data entry, and general administrative tasks as required.
  • Assist with photocopying, printing, laminating, filing, and preparing documents.
  • Collate and distribute information to parents/carers, staff, and students.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing post, including franking and sorting.
  • Provide refreshments to visitors when needed.

Communication & Events

  • Make telephone calls to parents and carers as required.
  • Send text messages and emails to parents/carers.
  • Support with Academy events such as parents’ evenings and open evenings.
  • Act as a key contact for staff regarding daily Academy events.

Additional Duties

  • Supervise students when required.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager.

General Expectations

  • Promote and uphold a safe environment for children and follow all safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintain professional competence by engaging in training and development.
  • Attend Academy training days and participate in performance management processes.
  • Work within the policies, ethos, and aims of the Academy.
  • Be flexible to support Academy functions, including occasional extracurricular activities.
  • Responsibilities may vary over time while remaining within the scope of the role.

Training & Qualification

You will be enrolled onto the Level 3 School Administrator Apprenticeship delivered by LMP Education. Training includes:

  • On-the-job learning
  • Coursework and online modules
  • Regular reviews every 6–8 weeks with your line manager and tutor

Upon completion, you will achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification in School Administration.
