What You'll Be Doing

This is an exciting opportunity to join the House of Commons as a Business Administrator. You will provide varied administrative support to the Parliamentary Maintenance Service Team (PMST), in order to help the team operate efficiently and effectively.

As a Business Administrator, you will:

  • Coordinate security passes
  • Organise meetings and diaries
  • Manage shared mailboxes and communications
  • Support new-starter inductions
  • Assist with purchasing and financial processes
  • Act as a records officer, using systems such as SharePoint, PlanOn, TALs, iTrent, and Chronos to maintain accurate information and support colleagues

The role offers excellent variety and the opportunity to work with people across PMST, senior leaders, and wider Parliamentary teams. It is particularly rewarding for someone who enjoys organization, teamwork, and problem-solving, while providing the opportunity to develop valuable knowledge of Parliamentary systems and contribute directly to the smooth running of an important function within the House of Commons.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in diary management with excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to build strong working relationships, whilst promoting the principles of equality, diversity & inclusion
  • The ability to plan & prioritise, take initiative, and foster excellent attention to detail under time pressures
  • Excellent customer service skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
