Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Attention to detail You like getting things right, and it shows in your work. You spot mistakes, check your work and understand that small details can make a big difference.
  • Ownership When a job's yours, you like to see it through to the end. You don't need to be constantly chased and take responsibility for making sure tasks are completed.
  • Reliability People know that if you've said you'll do it, it'll be done. You can manage your own workload, use your initiative and organise your time effectively.
  • Flexibility You enjoy variety and are happy to help with whatever the day brings. You understand that working in a busy community organisation means priorities can change.
  • Openness If you're not sure about something, you'd rather ask than guess. You are comfortable asking questions and seeking clarification when needed.
  • Communication You are confident communicating both verbally and in writing. You can communicate professionally with colleagues, customers, schools and external partners.
  • Persistence You're comfortable giving people a friendly nudge when you're waiting on something — whoever they are. You don't allow tasks to get forgotten simply because you're waiting for someone else.
  • IT & Microsoft Office skills You must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook and be confident using computers and online systems.
