Business Advisor
Location: Sheffield / London / Hybrid Working
(Expectation that you will attend an office 2 days per week)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week/flexible days and/or hours (Mon-Fri)
Salary: Up to £32,500 (Sheffield) / £35,000 (London) depending on experience

The Role

You will review loan applications and complete approvals in line with scheme rules, credit requirements and risk and compliance procedures. You will provide clear feedback on applications, help colleagues resolve queries and ensure that decisions are supported by accurate and relevant information.
You will work with the Delivery Manager to oversee team queues, balance caseloads and contribute to monthly targets through application reviews. You will also support colleagues through one-to-one coaching, peer learning and the sharing of good practice. Your insight will help identify pain points, improve processes and contribute to the end-to-end customer journey.
To be successful, you will communicate clearly in writing and verbally, make considered decisions and manage competing priorities. You will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, providing constructive feedback and adapting your approach when circumstances change. You will have experience of delivering customer service, working towards agreed outcomes and contributing to improvements. You possess a strong analytical mindset with a proven ability to break down complex problems and find practical solutions.

Knowledge of KYC and AML procedures, Start Up Loans credit policies or loan underwriting would be beneficial. You should also be comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel.
