The Role
We are seeking a Business Advisory Senior to join our team in the Central West of Scotland (around Glasgow or Stirling). The successful candidate will mainly handle accounts preparation, work with tax colleagues, and ensure client deadlines are met. This role involves supporting clients with their management accounts and statutory accounts, and working closely with team members to deliver high-quality service. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in business advice and tax computations. You will be a vital part of a busy, fast-paced environment that values accuracy and client care.
Responsibilities Include
- Managing the entire process of accounts preparation from start to finish, including draft and finalisation
- Supporting the preparation of business and personal tax computations in accordance with UK tax standards
- Planning the timing of work with managers and liaising with clients’ staff on site
- Monitoring project budgets and communicating issues proactively
- Building effective relationships with clients, staff, and other service lines
- Ensuring all documentation and accounts files are complete and compliant

The Ideal Candidate
You will bring a strong background in public practice or accounting, with relevant qualifications or experience. Our ideal candidate is motivated, organised, and has a keen eye for detail.
Mandatory
- Experience in preparing management and statutory accounts, ideally within a similar setting
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Strong IT skills, with experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
- Knowledge of tax computations, VAT, and UK GAAP/FRS 102 standards
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
- Right to work in the UK without restrictions
Preferred
- Qualified or close to obtaining ACA, ACCA, AAT, or an equivalent qualification
- Experience with audit or working on complex tax issues
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Power BI for reporting
