Business Affairs Manager | Fast-Growth International Media Business | London (Hybrid)
Harmonic is partnering with a fast-growth international media business that has doubled its revenue year on year while staying strongly profitable. Alongside its media platforms, it runs an in-house creative studio producing branded content for brand and agency partners. As it moves from startup to scale-up, it is bringing business affairs in-house for the first time. It's a close-knit, collaborative team where people push each other and get on well.
The Role
This is a new, standalone position in the Operations team. You'll be the business's only business affairs specialist, owning the contract workflow end-to-end and acting as the central point of contact between Sales, Client Services, the Studio team, and the company's external legal partner. The role is hands-on and comes with real autonomy. Your first priority is to replace the current interim contract workflow with a permanent function that can scale, and to put the processes in place before volumes grow. There's clear scope to grow the role as the business does, so we’re looking for someone ambitious, driven, and eager to contribute to a scaling business on an exciting growth journey.

Responsibilities
- Own all contract negotiations and legal matters end-to-end for the commercial teams.
- Review and negotiate commercial terms with brand and agency partners, including IP ownership, licensing and usage rights.
- Review and negotiate production partner agreements, talent contracts, location and talent releases and production insurance.
- Build and maintain standardized contract templates and playbooks so routine agreements can go through without external counsel.
- Train Sales and Client Services so they can handle more contracts themselves and escalate less.
- Advise the commercial teams on advertising regulation and content clearance.
- Escalate complex or high-risk matters to external counsel and manage that relationship for the business.
- Track contract turnaround times, find bottlenecks and improve the process, working with Finance and Operations on legal, compliance and risk.
- Ad hoc tasks to support the wider business
What We Need to See (Essential)
- Around five years in business affairs or commercial contracts.
- Media production, content or entertainment background
- Comfortable working as an independent individual contributor and building a function from scratch.

Package:
- Salary: £60,000-£70,000 + potential performance-related bonus
- Benefits: 22 days' holiday plus bank holidays, 10 days' work from anywhere, employer pension contribution
- Location: London
- Hybrid pattern: 4 days per week in-office, 1 day work from home (flexible)
- Start Date: Ideally ASAP-1 month, but longer notice periods will be considered for the right candidate
