Contract until 18th Dec. 2026
Crewe - Hybrid - 2-days per week
We are recruiting for a Business Analyst to support complex, high-impact IT change initiatives within a fast-paced automotive and manufacturing environment. This contract role will focus on understanding business needs, shaping clear requirements, supporting solution design, and ensuring change activity delivers measurable value and practical outcomes.
As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders across IT, operational teams, suppliers, and senior leadership, helping to turn business challenges into structured insights, clear requirements, and actionable solutions. This is a role for someone confident, proactive, and comfortable asking the right questions, challenging assumptions, and bringing clarity to complex change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end business analysis activity across complex IT change initiatives, from discovery through to delivery and benefits realisation.
- Elicit, analyse, document, and manage high-quality requirements, ensuring they are clearly linked to business outcomes and value.
- Translate business problems into structured insights, process models, user stories, acceptance criteria, and practical recommendations.
- Support business case development, including benefits definition, cost/benefit analysis, and impact assessment.
- Work with stakeholders at all levels, including senior stakeholders, to clarify priorities, challenge constructively, and drive alignment.
- Validate solution designs to ensure they meet business needs, expected outcomes, and operational requirements.
- Define and assure non-functional requirements, including availability, performance, security, resilience, scalability, supportability, and operational readiness.
- Apply systems thinking to understand upstream and downstream impacts across processes, applications, data, suppliers, operational teams, and business outcomes.
- Work with third-party suppliers, delivery partners, and systems integrators to ensure requirements are understood and outputs are validated.
- Produce clear, consistent, and high-quality BA artefacts with strong traceability, governance, and delivery confidence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
