About The Role
Are you an experienced Business Analyst who enjoys turning complex business challenges into clear, practical solutions?
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our technology team on a 6-month fixed term contract. Working closely with business stakeholders, Product Managers and delivery teams, you’ll play a key role in understanding business needs, defining requirements and supporting the delivery of solutions that create measurable value for Arco.
This is a varied role that will see you working across product delivery, business change and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll act as the bridge between the business and technology teams, using your analytical and stakeholder management skills to help improve operational effectiveness and support Arco’s strategic objectives for growth, efficiency and profitability.
The Business Analyst role is a hybrid position, with a mix of home working and working from our Head Office in Hull.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Elicit, analyse, document and validate business, functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring they are clear, prioritised and aligned to business outcomes.
- Develop and maintain Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to support Agile product delivery.
- Define and document AS-IS and TO-BE processes, using recognised standards such as BPMN where appropriate.
- Evaluate the impacts, dependencies, risks and opportunities associated with proposed business and technology changes.
- Act as the link between business stakeholders and Digital teams, supporting Product Managers and delivery teams throughout the product and change lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and process reviews to gather information, challenge assumptions and build stakeholder consensus.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business needs, deliver intended value and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Apply agreed Business Analysis standards, tools and methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Business Analysis practice.

The ideal Business Analyst will be/have:
- Proven experience performing a Business Analyst role within a digital, IT or business change environment
- Experience of working within Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum or Kanban
- Experience creating Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
- Experience mapping and improving business processes using recognised techniques and standards such as BPMN
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- The ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence or equivalent collaboration and backlog management platforms
- Experience using process modelling tools such as Visio, Lucidchart or equivalent
- Experience working within an ecommerce, retail, distribution, manufacturing or customer-focused environment
- Experience analysing business data and performance measures to support decision-making
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
- A Business Analysis certification such as BCS, CBAP or equivalent
