Business Analyst

A Business Analyst is a fundamental part of our Business Change team at Nucleus. The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of change to processes, people, and systems, across regulatory, mandatory, and growth portfolios. This role helps provide the translation layer between the Business wants and needs and the successful outcome of a technical, business, and/or process change.

Working alongside colleagues in Change, Technology, and the wider Business teams, this role helps realize our strategic objectives by investigating business situations and evaluating options for improvement, ensuring they meet the needs of the business.

It is paramount that the role strives to deliver to quality, cost, and delivery targets, bringing together cross-functional teams to ensure success.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead on initial triage of new change requests raised by the business, assessing the expected benefits and impacted technology.
  • Supporting our Change Champions to articulate the rationale for each change and ensuring they are supported through the process.
  • Apply a range of analysis techniques to elicit business requirements and feed into discussions on approaches and solutions.
  • Facilitate and lead in requirements workshops to gather an understanding of the key deliverables, using effective questioning to achieve a comprehensive interpretation of the ask.
  • Produce analysis outputs such as Business Requirements documents, Requirements Traceability, and Business Readiness assessments.
  • Analysis of ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ processes and creation of process maps to help visualize potential improvement opportunities.
  • ‘Input to’ and ‘approval of’ wider change artefacts such as feasibility studies, Impact Assessments, and Solution Designs.
  • Supporting Project Managers in the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and self-development.
  • Be fully compliant with project governance, reporting, and tracking. Take responsibility in everything you do to deliver good outcomes for our customers.
  • Positively demonstrate the Nucleus values and behaviours.
  • Undertake any other duties to achieve the purpose of the role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our culture is one of the many things that sets us apart from the pack. We want to have an environment where our people feel that they can make a real difference, know they’ll be rewarded for their efforts, and more importantly, enjoy themselves at work.

Inclusion and diversity at Nucleus

As with most things in life, who cares, wins. We really care about inclusion.

For us, it’s not a tick box exercise; inclusion and diversity are embedded in our culture and everything we do. It’s a commercial imperative. It isn’t about being PC. It’s about being future-relevant and durable. We owe it to ourselves and the industry to ensure we are playing our part in creating a fair, balanced, and transparent financial services sector.

More diversity means broader experience, a wider set of perspectives, and a better collective ability to problem-solve. And it means being more representative of customer groups, which supports areas such as product development.

At Nucleus, we offer a generous blend of benefits for the things that really matter to our people, including a non-contributory pension, bonus, enhanced parental leave, paid time off for emergencies, health and wellbeing initiatives, and flexible working options.
