Real-Time Business Analyst – Market Data, Observability, Low Latency, Feed Handlers, Exchange Connectivity, Agile, SLIs/SLOs – Financial Services – London – Up to £750/day (to umbrella company) Inside IR35

My client, a leading global market data and financial technology organisation, is looking for a Real-Time Business Analyst in London on an initial contract to December 2026.

The team is building an observability platform for a globally distributed, low-latency market data estate - the aim being to spot problems before clients do, understand who they affect, and lift the reliability and transparency of the service as a whole.

You will be defining the problem, finding out observability gaps and user pain points across various areas, what they cost the business, and how to put that in front of product, operations and leadership in terms they will act on. From there you will help shape the modelling that shows whether content is arriving on time, intact and accurate from exchange to client endpoint, and work with product and engineering on service level indicators that mean something to customers. Strategy docs, data models, capability maps and user stories are your output.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
