Business Analyst
Bristol / Hybrid
£35,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
Permanent | Full-time
Witcher Associates is partnering with a growing specialist insurance business in Bristol to recruit a Business Analyst into its established Change function.
This opportunity would suit someone who already has practical experience within business analysis or business change and is looking to develop further within an experienced team.
You'll work alongside senior Business Analysts and a highly supportive Head of Change, contributing to a varied portfolio of business, operational and technology-led change.
The Role
You'll work with stakeholders across the business to understand problems, gather requirements and help translate business needs into practical change.
Responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, documenting and validating business requirements
- Mapping current and future-state business processes
- Supporting and facilitating stakeholder workshops
- Translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Using data and analysis to identify root causes and support decision-making
- Supporting testing and ensuring delivered solutions meet business requirements
- Working closely with project and change colleagues throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working
- Supporting multiple projects and change initiatives simultaneously

What We're Looking For
To be considered, you should be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience within a Business Analyst, Business Change, Change Analyst or closely related role
- Practical experience working within a project or change environment
- A good understanding of business analysis frameworks and methodologies
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- An understanding of process mapping and improvement
- Confidence working with stakeholders across different areas of a business
- A data-led mindset with the ability to investigate problems and identify root causes
- Experience with Jira or similar project/change tools would be advantageous
Previous experience within insurance, financial services, banking or fintech is highly desirable, although candidates from other regulated or complex environments will also be considered where they have strong business analysis experience.
We're particularly interested in people who are naturally curious. You'll be expected to ask questions, understand why processes work the way they do and be confident challenging existing ways of working where appropriate.
You'll also need to be proactive, comfortable taking ownership and receptive to feedback and development.

Location
The role is hybrid and connected to the Bristol office.
There is flexibility around office attendance, but we're particularly interested in candidates based within a reasonable commute of Bristol who are able to spend regular face-to-face time with the team.
