About Tribal
Tribal is a global EdTech organisation providing innovative software solutions that support education providers worldwide. Our mission is to research, develop, and deliver technology that helps institutions support learners, enhance teaching, and achieve exceptional educational outcomes.
The EBS system is a flexible, modular Student Information System (SIS) designed for Further Education, Higher Education, and vocational training organisations. It helps institutions manage student information efficiently, streamline operational processes, and improve learner engagement. With configurable modules and a real-time, unified view of students, staff, and activities, EBS supports the evolving needs of educational organisations of all sizes.
The Role
As part of Tribal Group's EBS team, our Business Analyst plays an important role in connecting business needs with effective technology solutions. Working closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, developers, customers, stakeholders and other analysts, you will support a range of activities including discovery, problem framing, insight generation, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, solution design, data analysis, and client support.
This role would suit someone with a strong technical and analytical background who enjoys understanding complex business challenges and translating them into practical solutions. You will help identify opportunities for product and process improvements, analyse data to support decision-making, and ensure EBS products and services continue to deliver value for customers and the business.
Whilst previous experience as an Analyst or within Product Management roles would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong analytical thinking, technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel required to our Sheffield office.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Acting as a subject matter expert for the Tribal EBS platform, working with stakeholders to understand business challenges, gather, analyse and document requirements, and shape solution outcome-based recommendations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve business processes, system functionality, data quality, user experience and operational efficiency through the effective use of Tribal EBS and related technologies.
- Supporting product enhancements, upgrades, testing, implementation and change activities, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value and meet customer requirements.
- Conducting detailed analysis of business processes, system functionality, data and user behaviour to identify trends, issues, risks, and opportunities for evidence-based improvement recommendations
- Collaborating with internal technical teams, product teams, customers, and end users to investigate issues and develop effective solutions.
- Producing and maintaining artefacts such as functional specifications, process maps, requirements documentation, user stories, and user guidance, leveraging modern AI-assisted practices where appropriate to support delivery activities.
- Supporting data analysis, reporting, and validation activities to ensure data accuracy and support informed decision-making.
- Participating in user acceptance testing (UAT), change management, stakeholder engagement, and training activities.
- Working across multiple initiatives simultaneously, helping to balance priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
