Senior Business Analyst – Finance / Insurance
Location: London, UK (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)
Contract: 6 Months
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with 10+ years of Business Analysis experience (12+ years overall preferred) to join a large-scale finance transformation programme within the Insurance/Financial Services domain.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in finance processes, stakeholder management, process mapping, and systems integration, with experience working closely with finance, technology, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR) & Finance Process Ownership
- Lead business analysis activities across Accounts Receivable processes.
- Define and improve premium invoicing processes.
- Manage cash allocation and receipt workflows.
- Support broker collections and settlements.
- Improve credit control and ageing processes.
- Analyse and resolve unallocated cash.
- Define workflows for:
- Manual and automated payment matching
- Suspense account handling
- Reconciliation with underwriting systems
- Collaborate with Finance teams to improve:
- AR reporting
- Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Revenue leakage prevention

Data & Reporting
- Define and validate AR dashboards and KPIs.
- Support financial reporting including:
- Ageing reports
- Collections reporting
- Reconciliation reporting
- Work with data teams to improve:
- Data quality
- Data lineage
- Integration between Policy Administration Systems (PAS), finance platforms, and reporting solutions.
Business Analysis
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder workshops and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Perform process mapping and gap analysis.
- Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with development, testing, and delivery teams within Agile environments.

Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of Business Analysis experience.
- Strong Finance domain experience.
- Hands-on experience with:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Fixed Assets
- Financial Reporting
- Month-End and Year-End Close processes
- Finance Transformation / Process Improvement experience.
- Credit Control experience.
- Digital Payments experience.
- Financial reconciliation experience.
- SQL for data analysis.
- Power BI report analysis.
- JIRA and Confluence.
- Excellent stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills.
- Regulatory and compliance reporting experience.
Nice to Have
- Insurance domain experience.
- Workday Finance exposure.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
- ERP implementation or transformation programmes.
- Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
- London Market / Lloyd's insurance experience.
- Understanding of Actuarial concepts.
