What is the purpose of the Technology Business Analyst?
Our Business Analysts are part of the Business Relationships team which sits in the Technology and Finance directorate. The Business Relationships team works with other NSPCC directorates to represent the needs and views of all our staff and volunteers, informing everything we do with technology.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Business Analysts. It's a varied role and key to delivering digital transformation across the NSPCC. Working alongside Business Relationship Managers you'll define business needs and translate these into technical requirements. The role can be home-based or hybrid, as preferred, to give you the flexibility to progress your career.

Role
This role plays a key role in ensuring that every system NSPCC's use is safe, reliable, and ready to support the work we do for children and young people. You'll contribute by:
- Collaborating with business stakeholders at all levels, as well as suppliers and system integrators to determine feasibility.
- Taking responsibility for requirements gathering, leading workshops, analysing, documenting, and validating requirements, exploring and recommending potential solutions, gaining approval from stakeholders, and supporting user acceptance testing for multiple workstreams.
- Challenging and developing ways of working to drive efficiency through better use of technology.
What will I be doing as a Technology Business Analyst?
You will bring knowledge, experience, and commercial astuteness to decision making on the implementation of technology to solve business problems. You will establish collaborative and productive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders utilizing experience in delivering change management projects. You will be able to work under your own initiative to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
What skills do I need to be a Technology Business Analyst?
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Proven experience in Business Analysis and have worked in an IT environment for a minimum of 2 years.
- Qualifications/Training in Business Analysis or Project Management.
- Skills in conducting workshops, interviews, and surveys to elicit business requirements and write business cases.
- The ability to communicate highly technical information to non-technical business leaders.
- A proven track record of dissecting complex challenges, identifying root causes, and formulating data-driven solutions.
- Understanding of methodologies and frameworks and proficient at writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and assisting with UAT.
- Experience of Project Management and a willingness to coordinate smaller projects and take responsibility for project documentation and updates to senior leaders.
- Technical proficiency and data literacy with understanding of system design and the ability to create flowcharts combined with a relevant qualification/training.
- Confidence to take the lead with organizing and planning work to deliver objectives on time.
