Business Analyst - Financial Services / Migration
Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a client-facing engagement within the financial services sector. This role sits at the centre of a live migration programme, working closely with stakeholders across the business to define requirements, manage change, and keep delivery on track.
Requirements Gathering & Analysis (Key Focus)
- Elicit and Document Requirements: Run workshops and interviews with business and technical stakeholders to capture clear, well-structured requirements.
- Translate Business Needs: Convert complex operational and regulatory requirements into functional specifications that development and delivery teams can act on.
- Manage Traceability: Maintain requirements documentation throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring nothing is lost between discovery and delivery.

Migration Support & Delivery
- Support Migration Planning: Work alongside technical teams to define data mapping, migration scope, and cutover requirements.
- Validate Migrated Data: Support testing and validation cycles, identifying gaps or discrepancies between source and target systems.
- Manage Change Impact: Assess how migration activity affects existing processes and help teams adapt with minimal disruption.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
- Build Stakeholder Relationships: Act as the link between business users, project teams, and senior stakeholders, keeping communication clear throughout.
- Support Governance: Contribute to steering group updates, RAID logs, and reporting that keep the programme visible and on track.
- Ensure Regulatory Alignment: Work within the compliance and regulatory constraints specific to financial services, flagging risk where relevant.

Essential Experience
- Business Analysis: A proven track record in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement on complex projects.
- Migration Experience: Direct experience supporting system, data, or platform migrations, ideally including data validation and cutover planning.
- Financial Services Background: Experience working within a financial services environment, with an understanding of its regulatory and operational demands.
Technical Expertise
- Documentation & Tooling: Confident using standard BA tools and techniques (process mapping, user stories, requirements traceability matrices).
- Data Literacy: Comfortable working with data to support migration validation and reporting.
- Frameworks: Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall delivery methods, and how BA practice adapts across each.
