About The Role
Hippo is seeking a highly skilled Principal Business Analyst (Identity) to join its growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering innovative digital identity solutions for a diverse range of clients. You will work at the intersection of strategy, design, and technology, leading discovery, assessment, and delivery projects related to identity and access management (IAM). Your expertise will help clients develop secure, scalable, and well-engineered systems that maximize the value of their data and digital services.
As a Principal Business Analyst (Identity), you will act as a trusted advisor, bringing deep domain knowledge and practical experience in identity management to frame complex problems, guide product direction, and support internal capability development. You will lead strategic analysis, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and support business growth through bids and proposals. Additionally, you will mentor and coach other Business Analysts, fostering a strong internal identity practice and community.
This role requires confidence in working with senior clients, technical teams, and product managers to deliver high-impact solutions. You will be responsible for managing risks, dependencies, and strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams. Your leadership will be essential in building Hippo’s reputation as a leader in identity consultancy and delivery.

Qualifications
- Deep practical experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), including digital identity architectures
- Strong knowledge of identity types: customer, workforce, and non-human identities (including Agentic AI)
- Familiarity with security methods and patterns: verification, authentication, authorization, lifecycle management, governance, SSO/Federation, Zero Trust
- Experience with major identity platforms: Okta, Ping, SailPoint, iProov, Entrust, OneLogin, and native cloud solutions like Microsoft Entra, AWS, Google
- Proven client and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing ambiguity and supporting product prioritization
- Experience mentoring and coaching Business Analysts and supporting practice development
- Ability to lead strategic analysis, shape product direction, and mediate conflicting stakeholder priorities
- Experience supporting bids, proposals, and RFPs with technical identity expertise
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities for identity discovery, assessment, and delivery projects, helping clients define clear outcomes
- Guide product and service strategies, managing scope, backlogs, risks, and delivery approaches for complex accounts
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client executives, mediating conflicting priorities and guiding teams toward optimal solutions
- Support business growth by contributing to bids, proposals, and pre-build assessments requiring identity expertise
- Mentor, coach, and line-manage junior Business Analysts, fostering internal capability and community within Hippo
- Share knowledge and best practices to develop Hippo’s internal identity practice and standards
- Collaborate effectively with product, delivery, architecture, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and security standards related to identity management
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Hippo’s delivery methodologies and internal processes
