Business Analyst - Data Security / Microsoft Purview / £350 per day - Inside IR35
Hybrid: Newcastle / Manchester / Leeds / Blackpool (1 day per week on-site)
Contract | Active SC Clearance Required
We are looking for an experienced Data Business Analyst to join a major public sector programme delivering a new Intelligent Service Platform within Technology Services.
This is a key role focused on data security and data protection, helping to define the future state for secure data movement across a large, complex organisation.
The Role
You will work at the heart of the Data and Analytics Hub, collaborating with wider business spokes to shape and deliver enhanced data protection controls, both at REST and in-transit, and beyond organisational borders. This role will take you from Discovery through to Alpha.

Key Responsibilities
- Eliciting, defining and managing business and technical requirements
- Mapping as-is / to-be business processes and driving business improvement
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams
- Supporting the delivery of M365 data security capabilities
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst on data-focused projects
- Hands-on delivery experience with M365, specifically Microsoft Purview Information Protection, Exchange/Email, SharePoint and Teams
- Experience working on data security, data movement and data protection
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Active SC Clearance is essential for this role

Desirable
- Experience working within a large, complex public sector / central government environment
Location: Newcastle, Manchester or Leeds preferred, with Blackpool considered. At least 1 day per week on-site.
Rate: £350 per day - Inside IR35
