Business Analyst (Functional)
Location: Bristol
Working Model: Hybrid
Security Clearance: DV or SC Clearance required
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Analyst to join a leading consulting organisation delivering complex technology and transformation programmes across the UK defence and national security sector. Working on mission critical initiatives, you will help shape solutions that support operational effectiveness, digital innovation and strategic decision making within highly secure environments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bridging the gap between business needs and technical delivery, working with stakeholders at all levels to drive successful outcomes across large-scale transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients, users and stakeholders to understand business challenges, gather requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead workshops, interviews and discovery sessions to capture and refine business needs.
- Analyse business processes, systems and data to recommend practical and value-driven solutions.
- Convert requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories and supporting documentation for delivery teams.
- Assess the impact, viability and risks associated with proposed changes and technology solutions.
- Support the design and implementation of product-focused operating models and ways of working.
- Work closely with project managers, product teams, developers and testers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Contribute to testing activities, ensuring solutions meet business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Produce clear documentation and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide ongoing advice and guidance to stakeholders throughout programme delivery.

- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within complex transformation, technology or change programmes.
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and business analysis expertise.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information and develop effective solutions.
- Experience working with Agile delivery frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban or SAFe.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and build consensus when required.
- Experience using business analysis and data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar platforms.
