Business Analyst
Location: Warwick, UK - Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Rate: £600 per day Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months initially
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a Data Enablement workstream, focused on translating a Data Governance / Data Catalogue target architecture into a practical, costed delivery plan. Working across Data & AI, Data Governance, Architecture, Platform, Delivery, Finance, and business stakeholders, you will define delivery work packages, resource requirements, effort estimates, dependencies, and assumptions to create a delivery-ready plan that supports funding, supplier engagement, mobilisation, and portfolio planning. The role will help turn strategic data management objectives, including data governance, data catalogue, data marketplace, data quality, data sharing, and DSI participation, into an executable delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate target architecture into a structured delivery plan.
- Define work packages, activities, milestones, dependencies, and assumptions.
- Identify resource requirements, responsibilities, sequencing, and effort estimates.
- Produce a costed resource plan to support investment and delivery decisions.
- Ensure planning covers people, process, governance, technology, and adoption activities.
- Bridge architecture, governance, financial planning, and delivery teams.
- Support decisions around delivery approach, supplier requirements, phasing, and prioritisation.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Business Analyst experience across complex digital, data, technology, or business change programmes.
- Experience converting architecture, strategy, or solution designs into actionable delivery plans.
- Strong requirements analysis, scope definition, work package definition, and dependency mapping skills.
- Experience producing costed resource plans and supporting investment planning.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience producing WBS, RAID logs, RACI models, planning packs, assumptions logs, and decision papers.
- Understanding of data governance, data catalogues, metadata management, data quality, data ownership, and data sharing.
- Ability to work across technical, governance, financial, and delivery stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure ambiguity and provide clear recommendations.
- Comfortable working at pace with incomplete information.

Desirable
- Experience within energy, utilities, engineering, or critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting data governance, data catalogue, data marketplace, or data platform programmes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, Snowflake Horizon, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Data Mesh, Data Fabric, data products, and metadata management.
- Understanding of Ofgem Data Best Practice Guidance, DSI, or regulated data-sharing requirements.
- Experience with Agile, SAFe, PI Planning, and portfolio delivery environments.
- Experience supporting supplier engagement, commercial estimation, or mobilisation.
- Familiarity with Azure, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and modern cloud data platforms.
