Senior Business Analyst – Finance / Insurance
Location: London
Work Mode: Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office
Contract Duration: 6-12 months
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with 12+ years of overall experience, including strong experience bridging business stakeholders and technology teams within the Finance domain.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise across Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), financial reporting, reconciliation, and finance transformation, with experience working on complex business processes and technology-driven change. Experience within the Insurance / London Market / Lloyd's environment would be highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable & Finance Process Ownership
- Own and analyse Finance and Accounts Receivable processes, including:
- Premium invoicing
- Cash allocation and receipts
- Broker collections and settlements
- Credit control and ageing
- Unallocated cash analysis
- Define and document workflows for:
- Manual and automated payment matching
- Suspense account handling
- Reconciliation with underwriting systems

- Collaborate with Finance teams to improve:
- Accounts Receivable reporting
- DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
- Collections and reconciliation processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and revenue leakage prevention.
- Support finance transformation initiatives and optimise existing business processes.
Data & Reporting
- Define and validate:
- AR dashboards and KPIs
- Financial reports
- Ageing and collections reports
- Reconciliation reports
- Work closely with Data and Technology teams on:
- Data quality and lineage
- Data requirements
- Integration between PAS, Finance systems and reporting layers
- Analyse reports and data using SQL and Power BI.
Business Analysis
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder workshops and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Create process maps, workflows, and business requirements documentation.
- Work closely with technology teams to translate business requirements into effective solutions.
- Support testing, validation, and implementation of business changes.
- Work within Agile/Scrum environments where applicable.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of overall professional experience
- Strong Business Analysis experience within the Finance domain
- Strong experience with:
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- General Ledger (GL)
- Fixed Assets
- Financial Reporting
- Month-End / Year-End Close processes
- Finance transformation / process improvement experience
- Requirements gathering and stakeholder management
- Process mapping and documentation
- Regulatory and compliance reporting
- Credit Control
- Digital Payment processes
- Financial reporting and reconciliation
- SQL
- Power BI report/dashboard analysis
- JIRA and Confluence
