Business Analyst

Location: London - Hybrid
Package: Negotiable + Benefits


We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in the ongoing development and enhancement of our Policy Administration Systems and associated platforms across Policy, Claims, Accounting, and Management Information functions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious organisation where technology is at the heart of business success. You will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, from Underwriters and Claims teams through to Finance, Operations, Compliance, and external technology partners, helping to shape solutions that deliver real business value.

As a key member of our Agile delivery team, you will act as the bridge between business and technology, translating ideas and requirements into innovative, scalable solutions. You will have the opportunity to influence product development, drive continuous improvement, and become a recognised subject matter expert within our London Market insurance operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business challenges, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and seeing their ideas transformed into tangible business outcomes.

The day to day:

Business Analysis & Solution Design

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to gather, analyse, and document requirements.
  • Create and manage Agile artefacts, including Epics, User Stories, User Story Maps, and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Translate business requirements into clear specifications for internal teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working.
  • Work with developers, architects, and delivery teams to design solutions aligned to business goals.

Agile Delivery

  • Support Agile delivery through sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain a prioritised backlog of clear, development-ready requirements.
  • Provide ongoing clarification and support to delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Promote collaboration between business and technology teams to ensure successful delivery.

Product & System Development

  • Own requirements from discovery through to implementation and business adoption.
  • Support system validation, testing, and user acceptance activities.
  • Provide business analysis expertise during product launches and system implementations.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and partners to support solution delivery.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships across key business functions and technology teams.
  • Communicate project progress, priorities, risks, and timelines clearly and effectively.
  • Keep stakeholders engaged throughout the change and delivery lifecycle.
  • Act as a key liaison between business and technology teams.

Continuous Improvement

  • Promote best practice business analysis and Agile delivery approaches.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and customer outcomes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.
  • Support ongoing learning and professional development.

About you:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst within the London Market or Lloyd's insurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance lifecycle and MGA operating model.
  • Proven experience gathering, analysing, and documenting complex business requirements.
  • Experience working with Policy Administration Systems and insurance technology platforms.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of Policy Administration, Claims, Accounting, and Management Information systems.
  • Understanding of business process analysis, requirements management, and solution design.
  • Appreciation of system dependencies, integrations, and operational impacts.
  • Experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog management practices.
  • Occasional travel to UK sites, primarily across the Southeast, will be required.
