Business Analyst, AI Initiatives
Location: London (hybrid)
Contract: 6 Months
About the Role
We're looking for a Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping and delivering AI initiatives across Sales and Marketing for a leading global B2B events and media business. Sitting between Product and Engineering, you'll turn product vision into clear, detailed requirements and Jira stories that engineers can pick up and build with confidence. This is a chance to help define how AI changes the way a business finds, wins and grows customers. You'll bring a practical understanding of how AI products are built and where they add real commercial value, and you'll move easily between the big picture and the detail, knowing how much detail each story needs.
About the Team
You'll join an established Commercial AI team that builds AI products and workflows across a portfolio of events and media brands. The team is growing to meet critical demand for AI delivery across the business. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, and commercial stakeholders across Sales and Marketing, helping take AI ideas from concept to live products that change how teams work. The team moves quickly, so you'll need to be comfortable thinking on your feet. This is a hands-on role supporting the product team day to day, not a pure requirements function.
What You'll Do
- Work with Product to understand the vision, goals, and outcomes for each initiative, and challenge requirements where they're unclear or incomplete
- Take a proactive, hands-on approach: work with incomplete information, switch between priorities, and find the answer yourself where one doesn't exist
- Support the product team's day-to-day operations, from pulling together performance metrics to helping roll out new features and gathering stakeholder requirements, picking things up as they come rather than waiting to be asked
- Break product requirements into epics and user stories in Jira, with clear acceptance criteria, so engineers can pick them up without chasing for detail
- Keep the backlog refined, prioritised with the product manager, and ready ahead of each sprint
- Run refinement sessions with engineers and answer questions during build so work keeps moving
- Map current and future sales and marketing processes, and spot where AI can remove effort or improve results
- Define the data, prompts, integrations, and edge cases an AI feature depends on, including how it should behave when the model gets it wrong
- Work with the Tester to make sure acceptance criteria can be tested, and support user acceptance testing with the business
- Keep requirements traceable from product goal to story to release, so it's clear what's been built and why
- Help sales and marketing stakeholders understand what's feasible, what's coming, and what trade-offs are being made

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
