About Us

CR Gems, an award-winning, established international coloured gemstone supplier, is looking for a commercially minded Business Analyst and Marketing Executive to support our continued growth in the UK and USA.

Established in 2005 by our current owner, CR Gems began with a simple passion for fine gemstones and a determination to build a business based on quality, trust, and personal relationships.

A first-generation gemstone merchant, our owner started his journey straight out of university in his early 20s, initially travelling door-to-door with just a pocketful of individual stones. By sourcing gemstones first-hand, primarily from Thailand, and supplying fellow gem dealers and manufacturers with calibrated parcels, the business quickly grew. This led to the opening of our first showroom in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Since then, CR Gems has continued to grow, expanding into Hatton Garden, London, in 2018, followed by New York’s Diamond District in 2022.

Today, we hold one of the largest stocks of GIA-certified coloured gemstones with origin reports, alongside a diverse selection of high-quality merchandise across our showrooms. Despite our growth, our approach remains as personal as it was from day one: our owner continues to hand-select every stone and parcel himself, ensuring the quality, value, and consistency our customers have come to expect.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for people who share these values and want to be part of the next chapter of CR Gems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, analytical, and creative. You should enjoy looking at numbers and customer behaviour, but also be able to think creatively about what we can do with that information.

You will need to be able to:

  • Analyse customer and sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and changes in buying behaviour.
  • Identify customers who may be suitable for specific products, new stock, or targeted offers.
  • Use data to develop targeted and personalised marketing activity rather than relying solely on broad campaigns.
  • Think about why customers buy, what they buy, how often they buy, and what may encourage them to buy again.
  • Develop customer re-engagement strategies and campaigns.
  • Measure the results of marketing activity and use the findings to improve future campaigns.
  • Combine data-led thinking with creative marketing ideas.
  • Create and manage email marketing campaigns and customer communications.
  • Produce marketing content and materials for different audiences.
  • Support trade shows, promotions, and other commercial campaigns.
  • Take projects from initial idea through to implementation and review.

You do not need to be a traditional data analyst or a career marketer. What is important is that you are comfortable working with data, curious about what it can tell you, and able to turn information into commercially useful ideas.

The role will suit someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with creativity — someone who can look at a spreadsheet of customer activity and ask, “What opportunity is here, and what can we do about it?”

Strong written English, excellent attention to detail, confident digital skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. Experience with Excel, Mailchimp, Canva, Dropbox, and other digital platforms would be advantageous, as would experience in jewellery, gemstones, luxury goods, or B2B marketing, although industry experience is not essential.

Above all, we are looking for someone who wants to use marketing intelligently to generate growth, increase customer engagement, and develop the business.

Location

The role offers flexible location options for the right candidate, with positions available in London, Birmingham, or New York.

Applicants based in New York must already have the legal right to work in the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity to become a key member of the team and play a meaningful role in the continued growth and development of an established international business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and have the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the company’s marketing strategy, customer development, and commercial growth.
