Job Title: Business Analyst, Back Office / Accounting-Energy Client
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)
Duration: 6 Months+
Rate: 900GBP/Day Outside IR35
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join an Energy client and support the Back Office / Accounting and FinOps function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Requirements gathering
- Business analysis
- Solution design
- Stakeholder management and testing
Working closely with technology teams and external platforms. The role will also involve supporting initiatives around Endur, SAP integration, regulatory reporting, and trade confirmations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand and document requirements.
- Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for Back Office, Accounting, and FinOps processes.
- Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories.
- Support solution design and work with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Work closely with ION/Endur and other technology teams on system changes and enhancements.
- Support Endur to SAP integration initiatives, including requirements, data flows, and testing.
- Analyse and improve Back Office and accounting processes related to energy trading.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements and associated system changes.
- Work on trade confirmation processes and related business requirements.
- Develop and execute test scenarios and support SIT/UAT activities.
- Identify, document, and manage defects, issues, and risks through to resolution.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across Business, IT, Finance, and Operations.
- Support process improvements and help identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Produce clear business process documentation, requirements, and supporting artefacts.

Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience working as a Business Analyst within Energy, Commodities, Trading, or Financial Services environments.
- Good understanding of Back Office and Accounting processes.
- Experience with FinOps / Finance Operations and financial processes.
- Strong knowledge of Endur / ION or similar Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms.
- Experience working on Endur–SAP integration or similar ERP/system integration projects.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, trade confirmations, and settlement processes.
- Experience with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and functional analysis.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and system testing.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
- Experience working in Agile or structured project environments.

Desirable
- Previous experience within an Energy Trading organization.
- Knowledge of SAP Finance / Accounting.
- Experience with ION Endur modules and integrations.
- Understanding of commodities trading, settlements, and financial accounting.
- Experience working with external vendors and technology partners.
- Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, or integration concepts.
