KBR’s Estates Intelligence division specialise in enabling clients to make informed decisions about the operational and strategic management of their estates and asset portfolios, including the external supply chain retained to deliver asset management and maintenance services. Estates Intelligence teams utilise the ‘6 As’ Methodology to deliver business benefit by deploying their ‘Viaverse’ platform to enable each A – aggregation of data, automation of transactional processing and operational data flows, assurance of process and data integrity to promote sanctity of management information, audit of processing and data to better refine business outcomes, analytics to offer management information and insight, all to enable enhanced asset management across client’s portfolio.

About the Role

KBR are constructing a multi-disciplinary technology team to deliver KBR’s latest Viaverse solution. A critical role within this team is the Business Analyst, who will report to the Process and Data Change Manager and will have ownership of business and functional requirement capture and lifecycle traceability management in one or more of the mobilisation streams. Post mobilisation the role will be responsible for managing change and continuous improvement through to release, ensuring scope has been agreed, tested and signed off before handing to the Release Manager. This is a rare opportunity to join a large-scale KBR EI programme delivering significant benefit to a large public sector department from mobilisation into BAU handling change and continuous improvement.

Role Responsibilities

During mobilisation this role will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring contractual requirements are individually captured, coded and MOSCOW’ed in a requirements catalogue.
  • Taking the lead with client stakeholders to ensure all requirement clarifications are resolved with client to ensure requirements can be delivered, deferred or removed.
  • Defining detailed process flow diagrams, either as controlled amendments to current flows, or creation of new flows, to support client requirements for transactional service delivery.
  • Assisting Data Lead in ensuring supporting data dictionary is defined and controlled that supports the flows and functional requirements.
  • Functional requirements documentation throughout lifecycle, ensuring traceability back to requirements catalogue.
  • Requirements traceability during development, working with developers to ensure all technical developments are demonstrable results of business and functional requirements.
  • Requirements traceability during testing, working with test team to ensure test coverage provides demonstrable results of business and functional requirements that can be accepted by client.
  • Responsible for requirements handover to BAU teams upon exit of hypercare, ensuring all artefacts are transitioned to configuration and live support.

In BAU this role will be responsible for:

  • Acting as a senior and strategic partner to the client on all aspects of solution design, process management, and technical service stability.
  • Maintaining documentation and traceability beyond mobilisation, ensuring change resulting from defects, business change or proactive improvements is captured with version control.
  • Ensuring data change within the system is recorded, e.g. ensuring version control and validation of change, identifying any system change required.
  • Work with Client and other internal teams to understand any pain points in processes, identifying potential scope for improvements of processes, technology or other ways of working.
  • Ensure changes are Impact Assessed across required stakeholders to understand impact and prioritisation for delivery.
  • Ensure changes are commercially assessed to prevent contract scope creep.
  • Working with wider development teams to highlight problem areas within the solution and work with developers and the business to overcome these.
  • Chair governance ensuring data and system alignment across business and supply chain stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact across the delivery eco system.
  • Assist support teams, acting as an escalation point, where queries involve process clarifications.

Experience Required

  • Experience delivering end-to-end Business Analysis on SaaS platform implementations.
  • Experience of working on large scale multi-organisational mobilisation Programmes.
  • Experience of developing complex contractual requirements into a traceable catalogue and managing requirements though design, development and test phases.
  • Experience of managing client workshops and resolving requirements ambiguity/gaps.
  • Experience of delivering client-side and supplier-side in public sector arena.
  • Experience of working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
  • Experience of working in a BAU environment handling change and improvements.
  • Experience of working in multi-discipline teams, and confident working with all roles i.e. business operations, developers, support teams.
  • Experience defining business, functional, non-functional, data and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of change governance, release management and transition into Business-as-Usual support models.
  • Experience designing and maintaining data dictionaries, business glossaries and data governance artefacts.
  • Knowledge of Facilities Management processes, including reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), asset management, finance and supplier performance management.

Required Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • End-to-end process modelling (with experience of BPMN).
  • Requirements (functional & non-functional) gathering, traceability and prioritising (MOSCOW).
  • Basic understanding of SQL database software (MRI Evolution preferably but not essential).
  • Experience of MS Visio to create and maintain complex transactional flows.
  • Experience using Jira.
  • Recognised Business Analyst accreditation.
  • Degree Educated preferably in a technical subject (desirable).

Security Requirements

The successful candidate must hold or be able to successfully obtain SC and will require a 5-year UK footprint.

Location

This is a permanent, full-time position based in the United Kingdom. The role is hybrid and will require 3 days based one of our offices in either the Surrey area or Swindon.
