Job Description
The Digital, Data and Cyber Team is transforming the way GLD works through modern technology, data and digital services.

The Role
Are you passionate about using data to solve problems and improve services? We're looking for a Business Analyst to help shape data, reporting and analytics solutions that support business priorities and deliver better outcomes for users.
In this role, you’ll deliver business analysis activities for a range of data-focused projects and support larger, more complex programmes. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and turn requirements into practical solutions.
Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, you'll bring together business, user and technical perspectives to ensure data products, reports and insights meet real organisational needs. You'll play a key role in defining requirements, agreeing measures, improving data quality and ensuring solutions are delivered in a way that is clear, traceable and testable.
A significant part of the role involves collaborating with Power BI developers, data engineers and reporting specialists to create trusted reporting and analytics products based on agreed business outcomes and reliable data.
You'll also contribute to our business analysis community by sharing good practice, supporting colleagues and helping to develop business analysis capability across the organisation.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, using evidence to inform decisions, and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights.

- Deliver business analysis for data, reporting, analytics, automation and AI projects.
- Work with users and stakeholders to understand needs, solve problems and define requirements.
- Turn complex business needs into clear, practical solutions and recommendations.
- Use data and evidence to identify opportunities for improvement and measure success.
- Collaborate with data, digital and delivery teams to design and deliver effective solutions.
- Support data quality, governance and the trusted use of information across the organisation.
- Help test and implement solutions to ensure they meet user and business needs.
- Review and improve business processes, services and ways of working.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate clearly with a range of audiences.
- Work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions aligned with organisational priorities and user needs.

- Gather, analyse and prioritise business, user and data requirements, turning them into clear actions and outcomes.
- Translate complex information into straightforward, well-defined requirements that support reporting, analytics and management information services.
- Produce high-quality analysis outputs, such as process maps, user stories, data requirements, options appraisals and acceptance criteria.
