Location
This role may be located in one of the following locations: Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield.
For candidates requesting to work in Newcastle, the role will initially be based at Benton Park View and then move to 1 Pilgrim Place in Newcastle city centre by the end of 2027.
For candidates requesting to work in Sheffield King’s Court, the role will initially be based at King’s Court and then move to 1 West Bar by early 2028.

Job summary
We have a number of exciting Business Analyst opportunities available across DWP Digital, including Debt, Health & Disability Services, Working Age Services, and Hybrid Cloud. Five vacancies are within the Working Age Services team and are available in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, and Newcastle. The remaining opportunities are available in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield.
As a Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in shaping and delivering digital transformation that supports millions of users across the UK. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will help bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that products and services deliver meaningful outcomes and value.
This is an opportunity to contribute across the product delivery lifecycle, working in Agile environments to support the design and delivery of services that meet user and business needs. You'll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, applying business analysis techniques to help define solutions, improve processes, and support effective decision making.

Please note: As part of the role, you may be required to travel regularly to the other digital hubs. The frequency of this will be discussed further should you be successful.
Job Description
- You'll be working within a transformational multi-disciplinary team utilising agile methodologies.
- Communicate effectively across both technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
- You'll translate business problems and user needs into backlogs of detailed requirements to deliver value and great outcomes for our users or for the solution that align to best practice.
- Advise the Product Manager in agreeing the suitable mix of epics, features & stories for each sprint, as well as active contribution towards prioritisation activities.
- Conduct research and analysis to understand business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service. Select the appropriate best practice techniques to model business processes, existing and new, in order to achieve consensus.
- Lead workshops, interviews, and other investigation techniques to effectively understand the business problems, business needs, and user needs.
- Be responsible for improving your own knowledge of Business Analysis and Agile principles, methods, tools, and techniques.
- Play an active role within the BA community, coaching and supporting other members of the community.
- Contribute to the development of others through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing, with opportunities to undertake line management responsibilities where applicable.
