Role Overview
This role supports the analysis and delivery of technology and business change across key systems and processes. The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, documenting, and communicating requirements, supporting workshops, analysing issues, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions. The role involves working with stakeholders across technology and business teams, contributing to process understanding, system enhancements, and successful project execution.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct Business Analysis on Technology projects within the commodities and energy product areas
- Produce clear documentation to agreed standards to effectively communicate project requirements
- Agree documented user requirements with business and IT stakeholders,
- Hold and lead requirements gathering and process definition workshops with the business.
- Monitor, track issues, risks and dependencies on analysis and requirements work
- Ensure Project Manager is kept apprised of the status of the assigned projects and activities
- Track and report issues, risks, and dependencies throughout analysis activities.
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure accurate understanding and validation of requirements.
- Assist project managers with status updates, task tracking and project coordination.
- Support responses to operational or Level 3 queries related to assigned systems or processes.
- Help ensure appropriate service levels are maintained to support business needs.

Essential
- Understanding of the full project lifecycle from requirements to delivery.
- Proven experience operating as a Business Analyst in Financial Services Technology, ideally within an Agile development environment
- Experience working as a Business Analyst in a technology or financial services environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required
- Service oriented and adaptable and resilient
- Results oriented and personal accountability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Desired
- Some experience in Commodities (EU/UK power and Gas, Oil, coal, precious metals and Freight) and Commodity derivatives (Options and Futures)
- Would be advantageous to have in-depth knowledge of Front Office Process (broking methods voice and electronic, trade and order capture), Middle Office Process (control and processing of transactions), or Back Office Process (Clearing, Settlement, Invoicing, payment and Confirmations)
- Experience with SAFe Agile
- Exposure to messaging protocols such as fpML or FIX.
- Understanding of financial products or trade lifecycle processes.
- Exposure to SQL or data-related analysis work.
- Experience facilitating or supporting requirements workshops.
- Strong stakeholder-management capability across business and technology teams.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and technical concepts.
