Business Analyst - Building Safety & Compliance
Housing Association Sector | Contract
Rate: £420 per day
IR35 status: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial 3 months
Location: Remote first, with very occasional travel to UK offices
Start: ASAP
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record in the housing association sector to support a critical building safety system implementation.
You'll bring a good understanding of housing compliance and regulatory requirements, particularly across properties, buildings, and repairs. Working alongside a subject matter expert who will provide business knowledge and oversight, you'll translate operational needs into clear requirements and help embed the new system.
The role
- Lead requirements gathering with business teams to support the system's low-level design.
- Translate requirements into clear, actionable user stories.
- Map current ("as-is") processes and define future ("to-be") ways of working.
- Plan and facilitate workshops to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and agree on priorities.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business and delivery teams.
- Support implementation activities and help ensure the system meets operational needs.

What you'll bring
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within housing associations.
- Strong knowledge of housing compliance and regulation relating to properties, buildings, and repairs.
- Experience supporting system implementations, ideally involving building safety or related compliance systems.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, and user story development.
- Confident stakeholder engagement and management, with the ability to challenge constructively.
- Excellent workshop facilitation skills.
- A pragmatic, resilient approach and the ability to maintain momentum under pressure.
