IFS Business Analyst

Manchester (Hybrid - 1 day per week on site)
Fixed-Term Contract (18 Months)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IFS Business Analyst to join a major ERP transformation programme supporting the implementation and optimisation of the IFS platform across a large UK organisation.

This role will focus primarily on the General Ledger and Finance workstreams, working closely with finance, technology and transformation teams to ensure business requirements are translated into effective system solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering process improvements, driving adoption and helping maximise the value of the IFS investment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst with strong finance process knowledge and previous ERP implementation experience to contribute to a high-profile transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance and General Ledger workstreams of an ongoing IFS implementation.
  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements.
  • Work closely with Finance stakeholders to understand current accounting processes, including:
    • General Ledger
    • Journal management
    • Reconciliations
    • Month-end close
    • Financial reporting
  • Translate business requirements into functional system specifications.
  • Assess change requests for feasibility, business impact and strategic alignment.
  • Support process standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Produce process maps, user stories, workflows and supporting documentation.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Deliver training and support to business users.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, governance and audit requirements.
  • Support integrations between General Ledger and associated ERP modules such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Project Management.
  • Identify opportunities to increase automation, reporting capability and operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on ERP implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and General Ledger functionality.
  • Experience working with IFS ERP or comparable ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent requirements gathering, documentation and business process mapping skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage senior business users, technology teams and third-party partners.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting UAT and change delivery activities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working within finance functions.
  • Accounting qualification, part qualification or significant finance process experience.
  • Experience of business process re-engineering and process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
