Business Analyst – Investment Banking

Location: Canary Wharf, UK (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)
Experience: 8+ Years
Mode: Contract 6-12 Months

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Investment Banking to support regulatory and data transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data governance functions to deliver strategic change across complex investment banking environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements from key stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Data Governance, and Operations teams to deliver business solutions.
  • Drive business process analysis, process improvements, and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement walkthrough sessions.
  • Perform impact analysis, gap analysis, and feasibility assessments.
  • Support UAT planning, execution, and business sign-off.
  • Produce Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), process maps, and data flow diagrams.
  • Ensure solutions align with regulatory requirements and enterprise data standards.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Strong experience within Investment Banking.
  • Hands-on experience in Data Governance initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Reference Data management.
  • Experience working on complex regulatory transformation programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with regulatory reporting programmes.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets, Front Office, Middle Office, or Back Office operations.
  • Familiarity with SQL for data analysis.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of data lineage, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
