What You'll Be Doing

Are you a naturally curious Business Analyst who enjoys turning complex challenges into clear, actionable solutions?

Howdens are looking for a Business Analyst to join our Technology & People Systems team, playing a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technology enabled change across one of the UK's most successful businesses.

Working across a diverse portfolio of technology and people systems projects, you'll partner with stakeholders at all levels to understand business needs, define requirements, and help deliver solutions that create real business value.

Reporting to the Programme Manager

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business challenges and opportunities.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops to gather business and technical requirements.
  • Create process maps, requirements documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse current and future business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Validate requirements throughout project delivery and support successful implementation.
  • Lead effective communication between business stakeholders, project teams, and technology functions.
  • Champion Business Analysis best practice across Technology & People Systems.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, introducing new tools, methodologies, and ways of working.

This is a full-time position based at Marlin House, Northampton, with occasional travel to other Howdens locations when required.

What We Need From You

We're looking for a confident and commercially minded Business Analyst who can build credibility quickly, challenge constructively, and deliver clarity in complex environments.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous Business Analysis experience within a technology, infrastructure, systems or change environment
  • Experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and driving successful outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Experience using Business Analysis tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A business analysis qualification and experience working within infrastructure-focused projects would be advantageous.
