We're seeking Business Analysts to join HMRC's Business Analysis Practice within the Chief Digital Product Office (CDPO). You'll work in agile, multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of high-quality analysis across one or more business areas, helping shape services that impact millions.

The BA Practice oversees multiple business areas within CDPO, which include:
- Business Tax
- Personal Tax
- Customer Engagement
- Finance & Corporate Services
- Response, Exceptions & Analytics
- Security and Resilience Portfolio
- Valuation Office
- Business Analysis Delivery
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of business analysis activities across projects.
- Apply BA Practice standards and methodologies to deliver consistent outcomes.
- Identify and define business problems and opportunities through evidence-based analysis.
- Work as part of a delivery/scrum team throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, validate, and document requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews to support analysis activities.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Practice Contribution
- Contribute to the development of the BA Practice by sharing insights and learning.
- Champion the value of business analysis across your team and wider organisation.

- Exposure to public sector or government environments.
- Participation in BA communities or forums.
- Experience supporting or mentoring peers or junior colleagues.

How To Apply
As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide the following:
- A name-blind CV including your job history, previous experiences and qualifications. Please cover in your job history up to your last 3 previous roles, relevant to the role being advertised. (100 words max per role)
- A 500-word Personal Statement. Your Personal Statement should be used to describe how your skills and experience would be suitable for the advertised role, making reference to the Essential Criteria and Person Specification outlined in the advert.
- Separate 250-word statements addressing the specified Behaviours, Communicating and Influencing (Lead Behaviour), Making Effective Decisions and Delivering at pace.
Please evidence any Desirable Criteria where applicable (up to 250 words max). This is not essential for the role but may be considered by the vacancy holder where candidates have the same score at interview.

Sift
In the event of a large number of applications being received, an initial sift may be held on your Personal Statement.
At full sift all behaviour statements, your CV and your Personal Statement will be assessed, with the successful candidates being invited to interview.
We may also raise the score required at any stage of the process if we receive a high number of applications.
Interview
During the panel interview, you will be asked Behaviour-based questions to explore in detail what you are capable of.
Interviews will take place via video link. Sift and interview dates to be confirmed.
