Job Summary

The Senior Business Analyst (Digital Applications) serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that digital products and enterprise applications deliver measurable business value.

This role is responsible for gathering business requirements, analyzing processes, defining functional and non-functional requirements, facilitating solution design discussions, supporting Agile delivery teams, validating solutions through testing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The Business Analyst collaborates with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX Designers, Architects, Developers, QA teams, Operations teams, and Business Stakeholders to deliver scalable, user-centric digital solutions across web, mobile, cloud, and enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Management

  • Elicit business requirements through workshops, interviews, observations, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Analyze and document current-state and future-state business processes.
  • Create And Maintain:
    • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)
    • Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
    • User Stories
    • Use Cases
    • Process Maps
    • Business Rules
    • Acceptance Criteria
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure complete traceability of requirements from ideation to production deployment.
  • Manage requirement changes and impact assessments.

Business Process Analysis

  • Evaluate existing business processes and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current and desired business state.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and user productivity.
  • Use data-driven insights to support business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation.

Digital Product Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Owners to refine product vision and roadmap.
  • Convert high-level business needs into delivery-ready backlog items.
  • Participate In:
    • Backlog Grooming
    • Sprint Planning
    • Sprint Reviews
    • Release Planning
  • Define Minimum Viable Product (MVP) requirements.
  • Assist in prioritization of features based on business value, risk, and effort.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement review sessions.
  • Build relationships across departments and functions.
  • Manage competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and recommendations.

Solution Design Support

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Technical Leads.
  • Validate technical solutions against business requirements.
  • Participate in solution design reviews.
  • Review application workflows, integrations, APIs, and system interactions.
  • Support digital platform modernization initiatives.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Define test scenarios and business validation criteria.
  • Support SIT, UAT, and production validation activities.
  • Review test cases for business coverage.
  • Assist in defect triage and resolution.
  • Ensure delivered features align with business expectations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze operational and business data.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support KPI and performance measurement initiatives.
  • Perform root cause analysis using quantitative and qualitative data.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support organizational change initiatives.
  • Assist with training materials and user documentation.
  • Conduct stakeholder walkthroughs and demonstrations.
  • Ensure successful adoption of new digital capabilities.
  • Gather post-implementation feedback and improvements.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Information Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Business Administration
    • Information Systems
    • Engineering
    • Related discipline

Experience

  • 5+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • 3+ years supporting Agile Digital Product teams.
  • Experience working with enterprise applications and digital platforms.
  • Experience with end-to-end SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder management.

An ideal Digital Applications Business Analyst combines business acumen, process expertise, technical understanding, Agile delivery experience, and excellent communication skills. They can effectively translate complex business problems into actionable digital solutions while ensuring alignment between stakeholder expectations and technical implementation.

For Product-Based Organizations (similar to SIS, Digital Platforms, Enterprise Applications), this role often extends into Product Ownership activities such as backlog management, feature prioritization, roadmap contribution, and release planning.
