Job Description Summary

Business Analyst Lead

Permanent

Location: Edinburgh or Witham (We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, and our hybrid model requires colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 40% of their time)

Salary: A competitive salary from £58,480 – £87,720 depending on the experience you can bring

As a Business Analyst Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering strategic transformation programmes while leading and developing a talented team of Business Analysts.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity that combines hands-on business analysis expertise with people leadership and practice development. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, influencing decision-making, driving best practice and ensuring the highest standards of analysis are embedded across our transformation portfolio.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you'll help navigate complex business challenges, shape strategic outcomes and ensure solutions align with both commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of Business Analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, performance and continuous learning.
  • Provide leadership and oversight across complex change initiatives, ensuring high-quality analysis and successful delivery outcomes.
  • Establish and embed business analysis standards, frameworks and best practices.
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape strategic initiatives, influence decision-making and ensure initiatives deliver measurable business value.
  • Manage analysis resource planning, quality assurance and capability development within the practice.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across processes, systems and ways of working to maximise business value.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Extensive Business Analysis experience, including leading complex business and technology change initiatives.
  • Proven experience delivering projects using Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery methodologies, with the ability to adapt your approach to suit business and programme needs.
  • Experience supporting the evolution of Product and Value Stream ways of working, helping teams align delivery activity to strategic objectives, customer outcomes and business value.
  • Strong people leadership experience, with a track record of coaching, developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience defining, implementing and embedding Business Analysis frameworks, standards and governance across a change portfolio.
  • Proficiency in business process design and documentation, using industry-standard techniques such as BPMN, Use Cases and user journey mapping.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at senior leadership level and build trusted relationships.
  • Experience or awareness of emerging AI and automation capabilities, with an interest in how they can enhance analysis activities, decision-making and delivery efficiency.

  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
