Business Analyst (Market Operations)
Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: Starting from £33,500 p.a. (DoE) + Bonus

Important Information for Candidates
Kinecx Energy uses reserve lists for positions where more than one candidate is deemed suitable for a position. Reserve lists are in place for 12 months during which reserve candidates will be offered the same or similar post should one become available during this time.
The Role
Reporting to the Market Operations and Design Manager, the Business Analyst (Market Operations) will support the delivery and continuous improvement of market operations processes and systems. The role has responsibility for executing a range of daily and monthly operational activities that support the transportation and distribution billing of natural gas, ensuring compliance with regulatory, licence and industry code requirements. The postholder will provide analytical support, maintain effective stakeholder relationships and ensure critical processes are completed accurately and within prescribed deadlines.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and allocate gas flows across the network using established systems and processes, ensuring operational activities are completed within defined deadlines and regulatory timescales.
- Validate, analyse and reconcile gas transportation, consumption and meter point data, investigating issues and resolving discrepancies to ensure operational and billing accuracy.
- Support the preparation and administration of natural gas distribution billing processes and the production of regulatory, industry and management reports.
- Respond to queries from natural gas suppliers and other stakeholders, building effective working relationships and providing a high standard of service.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting, and support the implementation of agreed improvements.
- Support the Market Operations and Design Manager in ensuring compliance with legal, licence, regulatory and commercial requirements.
- Any other duties as directed by the Market Operations and Design Manager.

Essential Criteria
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify potential improvements and solutions
- Excellent IT skills including data manipulation using Microsoft Excel
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver accurate work within operational and regulatory deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data handling and process execution
- Self-confidence, discipline and a commercial approach
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within the energy, utilities or other regulated sectors.
