Business Analyst – OT Cyber Security
Contract Role
Scotland / Hybrid | UK Remote Considered
We are supporting a major OT Cyber Security transformation programme within a global FMCG manufacturing environment, with approximately US$10m of investment during FY27 and ongoing investment planned as the organisation continues to strengthen its OT Cyber Security capability.
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join the programme and work across a number of strategic initiatives, initially focusing on Asset Management and Application Management.
This is not a traditional IT Business Analyst role.
We need someone who understands the complexity of manufacturing, supply chain, engineering and OT environments, and who can translate operational challenges into clear business, technical and functional requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with Project Managers, programme teams and operational stakeholders to define business problems, needs, scope and desired outcomes.
- Work directly with manufacturing sites, Engineering, D&T and operational stakeholders to understand how technology is used within the business.
- Elicit, analyse, document, validate and baseline business, operational and functional requirements.
- Translate complex technical and cyber requirements into clear business and operational requirements.
- Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from business need through design, testing, acceptance and benefits.
- Analyse current-state and future-state processes.
- Define processes, roles, ownership, hand-offs and decision points across D&T, Engineering, Cyber, manufacturing sites and suppliers.
- Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, duplication and opportunities for standardisation.
- Initially focus on Asset Management and Application Management, including understanding data, ownership, processes and operational requirements.
- Work with Data Leads to define data requirements, ownership, sources, quality requirements and reporting needs.
- Identify dependencies relating to asset, application, identity, vulnerability and monitoring data.
- Develop clear and testable acceptance criteria.
- Support UAT and operational acceptance.
- Analyse the impact of changes to scope, cost, schedule, risk and benefits.
- Support project governance, decision papers, RAID inputs and dependency analysis.
- Ensure requirements, decisions, assumptions and gaps remain documented and auditable.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst within complex technology, transformation or change programmes.
- Experience working within manufacturing, FMCG, supply chain, engineering or OT environments.
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, prioritisation and traceability experience.
- Experience mapping current-state and future-state processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work across business, technology, engineering and operational teams.
- Experience translating complex technical requirements into clear business and operational requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within structured project governance or stage-gated delivery.

Desirable
- Experience within OT Cyber Security, Cyber Security, technology risk or controls.
- Experience with Asset Management or Application Management.
- Experience working with asset, application, identity, vulnerability or security-monitoring data.
- Experience working across large-scale, global or multi-site manufacturing environments.
- Experience where production availability, operational resilience and business continuity are critical.
- Experience with PACE or comparable delivery methodologies.
The Person
We're looking for a BA who can operate comfortably between the business, manufacturing sites, technology teams, engineering and cyber specialists.
You'll need to be confident challenging assumptions, asking the right questions and understanding the difference between what a project wants to deliver and what the manufacturing operation actually needs.
You should be comfortable working in environments where standardisation, operational continuity, risk reduction and site-specific requirements all need to be balanced.
The role profile places particular emphasis on understanding manufacturing reality, operational continuity, resilience, safety and local constraints when defining requirements.
Location
Scotland preferred, with hybrid working and regular engagement with manufacturing sites across Scotland.
UK-based candidates can be considered for remote working where they have the required manufacturing/OT experience and can travel to site when necessary.
