Who We Are:
We are a consultancy operating within Robert Walters, the world's most trusted talent solutions business. Across the globe, we deliver recruitment, outsourcing and talent advisory services for businesses of all sizes, opening doors for people with diverse skills, ambitions and backgrounds.
The Role:
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Analyst Project Manager to join Robert Walters as a Consultant, working on assignment with a major US investment bank in Bournemouth.
We are ideally seeking candidates from a banking or financial services background, although candidates from other highly regulated industries will also be considered.
This is a hybrid Business Analysis and Project Management role, requiring someone who can understand complex business problems, define requirements and processes, work with stakeholders to identify solutions and take ownership of delivering those solutions through to implementation.
You will need to be equally comfortable operating as a Business Analyst and Project Manager, with strong stakeholder management, problem solving and delivery skills.
As a Consultant, you will benefit from permanent employment with Robert Walters and will be deployed on an assignment with one of our clients. We will provide you with ongoing training and professional support to help you develop your skills and career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end to end delivery of projects, managing project plans, milestones, scope, requirements, dependencies, risks and issues from initiation through to implementation.
- Define and analyse business problems, working with stakeholders to understand requirements, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Lead business analysis activities, including requirements gathering, process analysis, current state and future state assessment, root cause analysis and process improvement.
- Analyse data and operational processes to identify issues, trends and opportunities, using findings to develop and document recommendations.
- Facilitate discussions and workshops with stakeholders across Business, Technology, Operations and Data & Analytics teams.
- Translate business requirements into clear documentation and work closely with technology teams to ensure solutions meet agreed business needs.
- Track and manage project delivery, including RAID, dependencies, actions, milestones and governance reporting.
- Proactively identify, manage and escalate risks and issues, driving mitigation through to resolution.
- Support business process improvement and re-engineering initiatives, challenging existing processes and identifying more effective ways of working.
- Work as part of an Agile development environment, contributing to planning, prioritisation and delivery ceremonies.
- Provide guidance, peer review and support to other Business Analysts throughout the project lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
