Business Analyst - SC Cleared - (ServiceNow / Halo / ITSM / Operating Model)
£500-£600pd Outside IR35
Business Analyst required with ideally live SC Clearance
A versatile Business Analyst capable of operating across the full delivery lifecycle—from discovery to implementation—whilst also contributing to strategic advisory work. Brings strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement, supported by hands-on experience in operating model transformation and digital strategy. Equally comfortable gathering detailed business requirements as contributing to operating model design and technology-enabled change.
Core Competencies
1. Business Analysis & Delivery
- Requirements elicitation using structured techniques (interviews, workshops, observation, process mapping, user stories).
- Experience identifying opportunities for workflow automation, self-service, AI-enabled decision support, or knowledge automation within business processes.
- Process modelling and optimisation (BPMN 2.0, SIPOC, value stream mapping).
- Production of high-quality documentation: requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business cases, process maps, data flows.
- Ability to articulate AI-related requirements, including data inputs/outputs, decision logic, and ethical considerations.
- Experienced in Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery.
- Supports test planning, UAT, and traceability, including validation of automated workflows and AI outputs.
- Skilled in using AI/automation tools for BA work (analysis, documentation, mapping accelerators).

2. Strategy, Operating Model Design & Advisory Capabilities
- Experience supporting or contributing to digital and technology strategy development, including AI and automation strategy components.
- Strong experience designing operating models that integrate service delivery structures, capability frameworks, process architectures, organisational design, sourcing approaches, performance measures, and governance.
- Ability to assess current-state operating models, identify gaps, and define practical future-state models for IT, digital, and enterprise service functions.
- Hands-on involvement in operating model implementation, including process embedding, capability uplift, governance setup, supplier and contract alignment, and transition support.
- Experience producing business cases with financial modelling, ROI/NPV analysis, cost-to-serve assessments, and benefits quantification—including automation/AI-driven benefits.
- Capable of creating strategic roadmaps, prioritisation frameworks, and solution assessments, including AI vs non-AI options.
- Familiarity with organisational design and change impact assessment, including workforce impacts of AI/automation.

Modelling & Design
- BPMN 2.0, UML, service blueprinting, capability modelling.
Automation & AI Tools
- Including Low-code/no-code, tools for BA tasks, and platform-embedded AI.
Analytics & Documentation Tools
- Miro, Figma, Visio, Lucidchart, Power BI, Excel.
Delivery & Collaboration
- Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, MS Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
Platforms
- ServiceNow, Halo, and other modern ESM platforms.
Typical Certifications
- Relevant certifications in Business Analysis, Automation & AI, IT Service Management (ITIL v3/4/5), Project and Agile Delivery (Scrum Master, Agile PM, PRINCE2, MSP), ServiceNow and Halo certifications
Experience Profile
- Demonstrable experience in operating model definition and implementation.
- Consulting or change-heavy environment experience.
- Contribution to strategic deliverables (strategies, business cases, operating models).
