We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our team. You'll be on a full time, permanent basis, working 36 hours per week.
We offer flexible working arrangements where the role allows. This role can be based at one of our sites or offices, at home, or worked on a hybrid pattern. You will be required to attend our Swindon office on a frequent basis, for one day per week initially, dropping to one or two days per month. This will be discussed further at interview.

By doing so, we will empower the technology services team to deliver projects, solutions, changes and help preserve our cultural heritage for generations to come. We need to ensure our organisation can drive forward its corporate strategy by becoming a trusted partner for all technology needs, delivering end to end solutions that add tangible value and benefit to our internal customers and enhance the overall experience of English Heritage's visitors.

The role of the Business Analyst will contribute to the delivery of our vision by working with departments and functions to map and analyse their operational processes, tuning processes that may be inefficient or implemented based on legacy technology or governance. You will understand the priorities and needs of the technology stakeholders, facilitating the capturing and analysing of requirements and upcoming demand to effectively support the delivery of appropriate IT solutions.
Working with members of the Technology Services Team you will support in the development of business cases for new solutions and enhancements to existing technologies, helping to surface opportunities for improved value for money and efficiencies.
As Business Analyst, you will champion the needs of English Heritage, working with stakeholders to understand processes, shape requirements and identify opportunities for better value, so Technology Services can deliver effective solutions that support the corporate strategy and improve experiences for colleagues and visitors.
The Business Analyst will work closely with teams across English Heritage to understand business problems, map processes, capture and prioritise requirements, and shape practical technology solutions that support change and improvement. They will act as a trusted link between the business and Technology Services, building strong relationships, supporting better decisions, contributing to IT standards and architecture, and helping develop a consistent, high-performing Business Analysis practice.
To be considered as a Business Analyst, you'll need:
- Strong stakeholder engagement: able to manage expectations, build relationships and align differing priorities.
- Business process analysis and improvement: experienced in mapping "As-Is" and "To-Be" processes and identifying better ways of working.
- Requirements definition and traceability: able to translate business needs into clear functional, non-functional and technical requirements, with testable acceptance criteria.
- Technology change delivery experience: comfortable working across Agile, hybrid or waterfall environments and supporting backlog refinement, prioritisation and delivery planning.
- Analytical and communication skills: able to interpret business and technical detail, use data to evidence decisions, and produce clear documentation and presentations.
- Experience in a range of BA centric ways of working, methodologies and taxonomies.
