About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Northern Ireland Assembly's Information Systems (IS) Office. This pivotal role involves leading business analysis activities across various ICT projects and change initiatives aimed at digital transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with diverse stakeholders to understand complex business requirements and translate them into practical solutions, including user stories, system improvements, and strategic roadmaps. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative ICT solutions that shape the future of digital services within a high-profile public sector organisation. The Senior Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and the adoption of new technologies, ensuring that digital initiatives align with organisational goals and deliver tangible benefits.

Qualifications
Option 1:
- A degree (minimum 2:2) or postgraduate qualification in Computing, Information Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent/higher qualification)
- Up-to-date PRINCE2 or PMI Agile Practitioner certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- At least 3 years' experience in managing or supporting complex IT projects using formal project management methodologies
- Experience in delivering or supporting organisation-wide change programmes
- Proven ability to analyse issues and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
Option 2:
- At least three GCE A-Levels (Grade C or above)
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing or supporting complex IT projects using formal project management methodologies
- Experience in delivering or supporting organisation-wide change programmes
- Proven ability to analyse issues and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Current PRINCE2 or PMI Agile Practitioner certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Understanding of basic finance and HR processes to support core application replacements
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate business analysis activities across ICT projects and change initiatives to ensure clear requirements and effective implementation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement efforts
- Develop detailed user stories, support Agile delivery processes, and contribute to system design, testing, and deployment
- Analyze complex business problems, identify opportunities for technological enhancement, and influence strategic decision-making
- Support project delivery by managing supplier relationships, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
- Engage stakeholders to facilitate communication, manage expectations, and promote the adoption of new systems and technologies
- Provide training and support to users to maximize the benefits of new digital solutions and ensure smooth transitions
