Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Business Analyst – Trade Finance / Contingent Liabilities @ Remote Working (Some travel required on Ireland)
Job Description
Strong experience on Business Analyst for the implementation of Trade Finance / Contingent liabilities product offering for a leading bank
We are seeking experienced Business Analysts who have hands-on experience of implementing Trade Finance / Contingent Liabilities offering. The ideal candidates must possess an analytical mindset with a domain understanding of Trade Finance / contingent liabilities, paired with hands-on experience in system-to-system data migrations, and the technical acumen to bridge the gap between business operations and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering
- Facilitate workshops with Trade Operations, Risk Management, and Compliance teams to capture business logic, accounting rules, and regulatory limits.
- Document end-to-end business requirements and guide developers and QA in the implementation life cycle

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Management
- Act as the primary bridge between Corporate Banking business units, Risk compliance, and the IT delivery teams.
- Draft user training manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and delta-training materials highlighting workflow changes in the system.
Testing & Validation
- Design comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios, validate migrated financial balances, and ensure zero data loss.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with global trade operations teams, triaging issues and managing defect lifecycles in Jira
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Trade Finance Domain Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of contingent liability products, specifically Commercial/Standby Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.
- TRADE 360 Familiarity: Prior experience working with TRADE 360 is an added advantage
- Technical BA Toolkit: Strong skills in data mapping, SQL querying for data validation, and visual process modelling (BPMN/UML).
- Agile Methodology: Experience writing clear user stories, managing backlogs, and participating in Sprint ceremonies via Jira/Confluence.

Preferred / Good-to-Have
- Trade 360 Experience: Direct, hands-on configuration or analytical experience with the Finastra Trade 360 platform is preferred.
- Alternative Platforms: Experience with similar tier-1 trade finance platforms (e.g., Finastra Fusion Corporate Channels, China Systems, or Intellect Design) is desirable.
