Business Analyst – Regulatory Reporting | Energy Trading

Role Overview

A Business Analyst with strong Regulatory Reporting experience is needed for an Energy & Commodities brokerage firm. This firm manages risk portfolios on behalf of their external clients and also trades their own portfolio of Energy products including Power, Gas, LNG & Oil, in both financial (derivative) & Physical form.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding of new products to ensure regulatory alignment and compliance across EMIR, MIFID II, REMIT, Canada.
  • Work with Business stakeholders such as: finance, compliance, risk to meet regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Translate evolving regulatory requirements into effective processes and system capability.
  • Lead improvements in trade surveillance, data mapping, and workflow design.
  • Translate new regulatory requirements into clear functional specs for IT delivery, focusing on data mapping, data flows, and data integrity.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of up-to-date regulations including: EMIR, REMIT, MiFID II.
  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle (Ideally Commodities / Energy).
  • Understanding how ETRM systems integrate and their part in Regulatory data (Not a necessity).
  • Strong SQL skills to analyze, trace, and track regulatory datasets.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder communication skills, working in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

  • Paying up to £100,000 + Strong bonus + Benefits
  • Location: 2-3 days per week in office - London City.
  • Key Areas: Regulatory reporting, MIFID II, EMIR, REMIT, Canada.
