Referment is working with a social-impact technology business that provides benefits-calculation and data-analytics software to public services, housing providers, charities and financial organisations. Its products help organisations identify support for low-income households, analyse local data and improve safeguarding decisions.
This is a consultative sales and account-management role with end-to-end ownership. You will develop new business, manage established client relationships and work with senior public-service decision-makers as well as operational teams. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will collaborate with policy specialists, analysts, engineers and marketing colleagues to connect client needs with the right software and services.
The Role
- Build your own pipeline through structured prospecting and develop new markets rather than relying only on referrals.
- Manage sales cycles that can run for three to twelve months, from first conversation and discovery through demonstration, objection handling and close.
- Sell analytics, benefits-calculation, safeguarding and policy-modelling solutions to local authorities, housing organisations, advice services and selected third-sector and private-sector clients.
- Build long-term relationships across senior leadership, service heads, team leaders and frontline users.
- Retain and renew existing accounts, identify relevant expansion opportunities and maintain accurate records and reporting.
- Refine consultative sales approaches and share effective scripts and processes with the wider sales team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
