Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Business & Performance Manager to join our Business Information, Performance & Contracts team. In this newly created role, you will help strengthen operational assurance, support service improvement and give leaders the insight they need to make confident decisions for patients and communities.

You will bring curiosity, sound judgement and the confidence to connect people, information and priorities. With a pioneering mindset, you will see the story behind the data and turn insight into practical action. You will also build trusted relationships, actively including and empowering others and treating everyone with fairness, respect and dignity.

In return, you will join a caring, inclusive and ambitious Trust where your expertise will be valued and visible from day one. You will have the opportunity to shape a new post, contribute to pioneering service developments and work with experienced colleagues committed to personalised, effective and high-quality community care.

The successful candidate for this position would be expected to be in the office 2 days a week on average.

The role will provide high-level business and performance support across the Trust, bringing together insight, governance and practical action to strengthen operational delivery. Working with service leaders, analysts and partners, you will coordinate assurance activity, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and ensure complex information is translated into clear priorities and decisions.

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of operational assurance activity, ensuring leaders receive accurate, timely and meaningful information.
  • Work in partnership with operational teams and analytical colleagues to improve performance, governance and service planning.
  • Support priority programmes and service developments, using evidence to track progress, resolve issues and maintain momentum.
  • Interpret complex data, test its reliability and present a clear, balanced narrative for senior audiences.
  • Build trusted relationships across organisational boundaries and communicate with confidence, diplomacy and credibility.
  • Manage competing priorities with autonomy, sound judgement, resilience and close attention to detail.
  • Bring strong business management, analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside a commitment to Caring, Pioneering and Inclusive ways of working.
